Vipers Netball Club

A Brief Run-Down on Vipers

Vipers Netball is a family orientated club based in the beautiful suburb of Aspley, Brisbane. We train on Thursday evenings, and we play in Brisbane's largest competition at Downey Park Netball Association on Saturdays during the winter season.  We cater for modified players starting at 7/8/9 years old, through to Opens ladies, and our non- competitive teams can include both male and female participants.

Our family orientated spirit is what makes us stand out. Netball is so much more than just a sport for us... it's family, friends and fun! Our club enforces the "It's Positive or It's Pointless" standard to all players and supporters. We strive to respect and value all players, families, members, officials, and all others involved in supporting and growing our sport and our club.

We offer more than just the development of netball skills, and in joining our club we strive to develop leadership skills, communication, teamwork, accountability, compassion, problem-solving, inclusion, self-confidence and team respect for all of our players. Whether you are a Brisbane local, just moved to the city, an experienced player, new to the game or wanting to get back into the game after time out, Vipers Netball Club might be the club for you!

We look forward to meeting you and you becoming a part of our Vipers family.

New Training Venue – Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA)

From 2026, Vipers training will take place at Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA).

We understand that a change in venue can take some adjustment, and we want to reassure our members that this decision was made carefully and with the club’s long-term interests at heart. Our goal is not to inconvenience our existing members, but rather to future-proof the club and position Vipers for longevity and continued success.

This move provides:

  • Improved training and facility access
  • A strong, netball-focused environment
  • Greater opportunities for player development, growth, and visibility

We believe this change will deliver lasting benefits for our players, families, and the wider Vipers community.

Exploring an Affiliate Pathway – Pine Rivers Netball Association (Trial)

As part of our commitment to supporting the continued growth and development of Vipers Netball Club, we have been exploring opportunities that strengthen our competitive and developmental pathways while keeping our members’ best interests at the forefront.

One opportunity identified is forming an affiliate relationship with Pine Rivers Netball Association. This affiliation has the potential to broaden pathways for players, provide additional competitive opportunities, and strengthen our connection within the wider netball community.

To ensure this opportunity is the right fit for our club, Vipers will approach this carefully and responsibly. In 2026, we propose to undertake this opportunity as a trial by entering one team only under the Pine Rivers Netball Association.

This trial approach allows the club to:

  • “Test the waters” in a controlled and low-risk way
  • Evaluate operational, competitive, and logistical considerations
  • Assess the overall experience and outcomes for players, families, and the club

Importantly, this trial enables us to gather meaningful feedback and determine whether the affiliation delivers clear and genuine benefits to our members.

Should the trial prove successful, this pathway could support increased participation, enhanced player development opportunities, and long-term growth for Vipers Netball Club in future seasons. Any decisions beyond the trial will be made with careful consideration and clear communication with our club community.

We see this as an exciting opportunity to explore new possibilities while remaining true to our values and commitment to our members.

Vipers Netball Club Proudly Donates Discontinued Uniform Stock to the International Netball Festival Foundation

top

Image ( 39)

Vipers family, we have some exciting news to share as we head into a fresh new season.

Our club is incredibly proud to support the International Netball Festival Foundation by donating all remaining discontinued Vipers uniform stock to their Not-For-Profit organisation. The International Netball Festival Foundation has a long history of bringing communities together through netball, supporting players from Australia, Fiji and New Zealand, and helping young athletes build confidence, broaden their experiences and stay active. Their work includes providing uniforms, resources and opportunities to players who may not otherwise have access to them and we are thrilled that our former Vipers gear will be put to such meaningful use.

A special thank you goes to Downey Park Netball Association who kindly allowed us to deliver our old uniform stock to their venue. They will be passing everything directly to the International Netball Festival Foundation over the New Year period and we are so grateful for their support in making this contribution possible.

This donation marks the beginning of a fresh chapter for Vipers Netball Club. We are very excited to share that our brand new uniform supplier for the 2026 season will be announced in the coming weeks. We cannot wait to reveal a bold new look that reflects the pride and passion of our club.

Stay posted Vipers. Great things are coming and we are so pleased to be giving back to the wider netball community while we step forward into an exciting new year.
